TRADITIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Traditional wedding announcements are cards (printed or written) that are mailed to relatives, friends, loved ones, and co-workers to inform them that a marriage has taken place. Announcements carry no obligation of gifts, and are a wonderful opportunity to share the news of a luxury elopement in a beautiful and/or creative way.
According to the Emily Post Institute, announcements are ideally sent the day following the wedding, but may be mailed up to several months after the wedding date. Traditionally, they are worded in the name of the parents of the bride; however, many contemporary announcements – particularly those announcing a marriage that took place in the form of an elopement – feature wording in the name of the couple in varying degrees of formality.
